
Social Just-Us Scholarship
The Brandon Bell Foundation introduces the “Social Just-Us” Scholarship opportunity. To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must be an incoming freshman into an accredited community college or university. They must accept full time enrollment into a Sociology or Criminal Justice degree program and must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students must demonstrate a commitment for social and criminal justice.
Students must submit the following in order to be considered for the scholarship opportunity: a high school transcript demonstrating academic achievement and the willingness to achieve goals, and a transcript (unofficial transcripts will be considered), two letters of recommendation, one must be from a teacher or school representative, and one must be from a community leader, (i.e pastor, community activist etc.) must be sent directly from their emails or in a sealed envelope. Applicants must also write a statement of educational goals and career objectives, (must be at least 250 words) explaining what social justice means to them and how will they apply it to social justice issues in the communities. Also, applicants must send a one-minute elevator speech via video to be considered for the scholarship.
Two Scholarships will be awarded to students annually and all applicants will be considered appropriately. Scholarships will be on a rolling basis and will be awarded annually.
